Weapon-Free Higher Education Zones
“This bill prohibits, with specified exceptions, a person from carrying or possessing a firearm on the property of a public institution of higher education in the State. The bill applies existing criminal penalties to violations. A public institution of higher education must post signs to provide notice of the bill’s prohibition in prominent locations on the property of the institution, including at entrances to and exits from the property.”

I oppose HB 159 because our public institutions of higher education in the state already have strict policies on firearm possession on campus. This bill is redundant and will not improve campus safety. If you agree, please sign the petition below.
